US Department of Defense Supports To Find Spinal Cord Injury Cure!

Spinal cord injury cure on the horizon? Well time will tell but there are certainly allot of “happenings” with research institutions finding promising treatments in laboratories animals and The United States Department of Defense has joined in with the support.

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and Capstone National Partners are pleased to announce a $2 million grant from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) to further support the expansion of translational research to find treatments for individuals living with spinal cord injury, including servicemen and women.

 The DOD awarded the two-year, peer-reviewed grant to the Reeve Foundation’s North American Clinical Trials Network (NACTN), a consortium of university hospital neurosurgical and neurorehabilitation teams to bring promising therapies into clinical trials.

“Spinal cord injuries can be devastating and this DOD award affords us the opportunity to test promising interventions in clinical trials and identify effective treatments for this country’s war wounded and for spinal cord patients throughout the world,” said Susan Howley, the Reeve Foundation’s executive vice president for research. - Read more in rdmag.com

That’s good! Just googling “spinal cord injury” in the news tab, allot of articles pop up with promising research on the subject. Will SCI sufferer’s, like myself, be up and walking soon? Hopefully! Best $2million invest from the government, I read today.
