Not really disability related although it is a great outcome for one of Lady Gaga’s fan!
Lady Gaga has donated her 24-karat gold wheelchair to a fan suffering from scoliosis and hip dysplasia. Gaga has also promised to pay for the girl’s surgery. It was revealed earlier in the week that Lady Gaga is feeling better enough following her hip surgery to ditch her golden wheels.
Emma C., A 19-year-old follower of Gaga’s on Twitter, told the Sun that, “Gaga reached out to me and is hooking me up with her team that did her surgery in NYC as I have been needing a hip replacement for quite some time. We’re planning on flying out this weekend, all expenses paid, for a consult.”
The emotional fan added, “The gesture is absolutely incredible… I broke down sobbing. Words can’t describe how incredibly blessed I am.” – www.examiner.com
Awe! The care and sweetness oozes from this act of kindness. Kuddos to you Lady Gaga and get well soon Emma!
Ah Miley Cyrus!
Calling out a pesky photog for parking in a disabled parking spot, that doesn’t seem disabled AT ALL!
The 20-year-old uploaded a video of the paparazzo to Pheed which showed him running ahead of her and taking pictures.
Adding her own running commentary, Cyrus alleged that the photographer had parked in a disabled spot before taking the snaps.
“This is the paparazzi that just jumped out of a handicapped vehicle, but he seems to be running quite fine,” she said. “Doesn’t look like he needs a handicapped sticker, doesn’t look very handicapped to me.
“Yet if I park in a handicapped spot, because of these people I get reported on the news. But no-one cares about this criminal that’s running through a children’s neighborhood, driving outrageously, while I’m with my three dogs. I’ve already lost two dogs this year – not trying to get another one hit by a car by this man.” - www.digitalspy.com
Well I suppose after being photographed a few times, and I even covered the story once (here), for violating handicap parking spots, who’s to blame Miley for capturing her own footage of would be disabled parking violators! … of course with the opportunity of being rewarded hundred to thousands of dollars for celebrity photos, who’s to stop these A’holes!
Tyler Perry is our celebrity BAMF of the day! After seeing a news report on tv about a theft of an accessible vehicle that got Alicia Day back and forth to work and such, he sprung into action!
The 24-year-old woman, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, would be lost without the van, her sole transportation to her part-time job as a greeter at Home Depot on Ponce de Leon Avenue. But about two hours after the story aired, Alicia had a new van, compliments of Perry.
“It’s unbelievable, it happened so fast,” said Alicia’s dad Cecil, who answered the phone around 5 p.m. Monday. “He said, ‘This is Tyler Perry,’ and I said, ‘Who?’ and he said Tyler Perry. He asked to speak to Alicia.”
Perry told Alicia Day he wanted to replace her van that same day. “This made me feel so wonderful,” she said. “Tyler Perry, of all people, decided to help a handicapped person.”
Very cool Mr. Perry… very cool!

LADY GAGA took time out from her world tour to meet a young spina bifida sufferer and even signed his customised wheelchair backstage at her recent show in Ireland.
The pop superstar performed in Dublin, Ireland earlier this month (Sep12) and six-year-old Oran Murphy was in the audience to see his idol.
Gaga chatted to Murphy, posed for photographs, and signed his chair, which has been customized with the singer’s Born This Way logo on both wheels. - abc2news.com
“His favourite singer is Lady Gaga, he loves her shows and her music. He told me he really wanted a picture of her on his wheelchair.
“His favourite picture is the Born This Way album cover. He is a really happy wee boy and he likes to say that he was ‘born this way’ so it seemed appropriate to get it put on the chair. –bbc.co.uk

Ever thought of jumping your chair off of a sidewalk curb? No? How about a full size MEGA RAMP!
“On Aug. 25, during a break in the competitive skateboarding action at the MegaRamp Rio contest in Brazil, Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, who has never had the use of his legs, claimed a piece of history by rolling down the steep, 55-foot-tall approach track and jumping the structure’s 50-foot gap.”
“Born with spina bifida, a birth defect of the spinal cord that has left him paraplegic, Fotheringham first started rolling around the skatepark in his wheelchair when he was 8 years old. “I was hooked,” he remembers.
According to his website, Fotheringham perfected 180-degree aerials in 2005 and a year later landed the first backflip in a wheelchair. He upped the ante two years ago with the first wheelchair double backflip, and in February of last year, he landed his first front flip.”
Congrats Aaron for this major accomplishment! and for showing me how much of a sissy I am!

So this country singer, Zac Brown, was in South Dakota and apparently they have games with people. Little People.
“Country superstar Zac Brown felt like doing a little bowling this weekend … so he greased up a little person and BOWLED him at some pins … and it was all caught on tape!!!” “It all went down at the the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota … where Zac was enjoying the “Midget Bowling” tournament at the M F’N Bowling tent. “
“For the record, events involving the tossing or throwing of little people is generally frowned upon by the little person community … but event organizers insist “Midget Bowling” is perfectly legit.”
If the “event organizers” say it’s legit, then geez… let’s not worry about the demeaning nature of the activity. “TMZ spoke with “Short Sleeve Sampson” — the self-described “midget” at the center of the action — who tells us he was a ready and willing participant in the activity … and insists Zac didn’t do ANYTHING wrong. “
Well then, I guess it’s ok?
