What can be worse than having your car stolen in front of you? Seeing your wheelchair taken along with it… leaving you COMPLETELY stranded!
That’s what happened to this poor fellow:
“Kevin, who suffers from arthritis and other long-term health problems, fell out of his wheelchair in the back of the van.” ”Immediately Shaun and his nine-year-old son Joshua rushed to help Kevin but, as they did so, another van pulled up and two men offered to help.” “Mr Parkin, who was now outside of the van, said the two men told young Joshua to get out of the van before stealing it.” “I thought they were coming to help us,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it when I realised one of them was driving off with the van.”
That’s rough! I couldn’t bear the feeling of being robbed of my wheelchair, then stranded, not being to move around because I don’t have a “back up” chair at home. I imagine it would be like an ex girlfriend taking away the puppy you both raised together and are super emotionally attached to, plus your computer because she doesn’t have one and she needs to be able to update her FaceBook status on a bigger screen for some reason, and your camera to take her narcissistic pics of herself, your favorite shirt, your favorite hat, favorite hoodie, your kitchen spoons… aaaaaaaand your dignity. I need to go back to therapy.
